Hilton Head trip take 2



A beautiful day at the beach, warm and very little breeze. It took Lillian a little while to feel comfortable  with her feet in the sand and the cold water. The first few moments were spent more in mom and dad's arms than on the beach.



Feeling comfortable in the sand, enjoying walking around and exploring her new surroundings.

Venturing to the water. She stood there for a minute or so not sure what to think. Then she put her arms in the air giving us her sign for 'all done'.

All done and back in daddy's arms - a comfortable and secure place to be.

Done at the beach, back on our bikes and on our way home for lunch and a quick nap before more afternoon fun. (I took this picture while in motion on my bike!)

Back to the pool for more fun. Lillian has learned a new sign - swim. I am guessing swim and cookie are her favorite signs right now. She will stay in the water as long as we let her. She doesn't seem to mind being cold if she is in the water (just like her daddy).

Hilton Head trip take 1

A few pictures from  our day on Hilton Head Island. The weather has been beautiful for us. We are really enjoying the sun, biking,  relaxing and swimming. Today we went on a bike ride along the beach to the Sea Pines Plantation. Lillian loves riding in the bike trailer and even took a nap on our way back to the condo. As you can see from the picutures Lillian and her daddy are really enjoying playing in the pool. You should have heard the initial reactions of the other people around the pool when Paul first threw Lillian into the air. I think they were surprised when Lillian was smiling from ear to ear when her daddy caught her.

Bike Ride to the park

After a long search we were finally able to find a bike helmet to fit Lillian's head. Saturday the sun came out again in Kirkland so we decided to get on our bikes and go for a ride to the park. I wish I had a picture of us - the best comment was a lady in the neighborhood who said we looked like a great family (two tandem bikes, one bike trailer, five people in all).

Lillian loves to wear hats and also loves to look at herself in the mirror. She was pretty darn excited about her new bike helmet. She was happy the entire ride too and from the park.

We just arrived at the park. Lillian is checking out all the activity at the play ground. She was not to sure what to think about all the people and the toys.

It didn't take Lillian too long to relax and start enjoying herself at the park. By the time we were ready to leave she was playing on this toy without needing any assistance from daddy.

A fun tunnel to crawl through.

Paul is pretty famous with Frances and Gerrilyn and his ability to get the tire swing really moving. The girls waited in line for quite a while so they could have a chance on the swing. They were nice enough to let Lillian ride for a short bit. Once Lillian got off Paul had the girls really going on the swing. Lillian thought it looked like a lot of fun and really wanted back on. She will need to get a bit older before she is ready for that type of ride with the girls.

Even the big kids had fun on our outing to the park. They did however mention the park is not as much fun as it used to be.

One exhausted little girl, time to get back in the bike trailer and head home!

Oh the fun you can have with the simplest things in life!

Bubbles anyone?

Lillian had a bubble bath yesterday. I added the bubbles after I ran the bath and tried my best to make some good bubbles. I didn't have much luck so I turned the water back on, added more soap (of course without measuring) and watched the bubbles come. We had some bubbles but nothing too great. Well Paul decided to come and check out bath time. A few minutes later, after a lot of commotion in the tub, Paul was able to create some bubbles.

A bit more commotion, a bit more bubble making fun, and suddenly Paul turned all that soap I put into the tub into bubbles. Oh boy BUBBLES GALORE!

Enjoying the sun and chickens this weekend

It has been cold, wet and gray here in Western Washington. This weekend we were lucky enough to see the sun on Saturday and Sunday. Both days were cold, crisp and beautiful. Lillian and I ventured outside Saturday and did some gardening. It was her first time playing in the dirt. She had fun and was definitely in need of clean clothes and a good hand washing when we were done. Unfortunately I was too involved in pulling weeds and I forgot to take any pictures. Sunday we spent some time in the backyard on the deck with daddy and our chickens. The pictures show how much fun we had watching Lillian experience the chickens for the first time. She is at a wonderful age. Thought I would also share with you a video of Lillian walking. A new skill she has recently started to master.
