9/20/2012 - Day 2:

Day 2 of my year long goal.

Today the little ones and I headed to Costco for a quick trip. It is so nice that Daisy is now big enough to ride in the cart with Lillian. She has a lot of fun with it and Lillian tends to hang out in the cart more when Daisy is with her.

Lillian had her first real haircut today. She was really excited about going to get her hair cut and did a pretty good job sitting still in the chair (airplane). She got to choose what chair to sit in, one of the choices was a pink car which another mom there was sure Lillian would choose. I had no doubt she was going to get in the airplane. She is all about being active and having fun, not at all a 'girly' type girl.

Quick picture on our back deck just for the fun of it. The weather has been great in Kirkland for the last couple weeks. We can't seem to get enough of hanging outside. Our back deck is a favorite spot for Lillian and Daisy.

9/19/2012 - Day 1

Today is the first day of my new goal - a blog post everyday for one year. Why you ask? To encourage me to take pictures everyday, to keep a journal of our family life and mostly just for the fun of it.

DAY 1:

Lillian, Daisy and I headed out to stroller strides (SS's) this am, just as we do most everyday. I pulled my phone out after class to snap a couple pictures of Lillian.

After SS's today we were supposed to do a craft project making a bug jar. We quickly realized we needed glue for the project so the kids had to take their kits home to do them later. Lillian was really excited to make her bug jar so Paul sat down with her and they put together the bug jar while I made lunch. They had a great time working together.

After lunch Lillian, Daisy and I headed outside for sometime on the swing set. Lillian and Daisy sure have a lot of fun playing together.

Trip to the fire station

Lillian, and some of her friends from our stroller stride group, headed to the Bothell fire station for a tour on Saturday. Lillian had a great time and has been talking about it every since. It was a bit hard to take pictures but here are a few I thought would be good to post.

Getting ready to head home with her new hat. She was so excited. It has been a lot of fun to hear her keep talking about her trip to the fire station.

Heat wave sparks window install

Yesterday morning I said to Paul - with the heat wave coming, I sure wish Daisy's bedroom had a window on the south wall. As you all know with Paul, it doesn't take much to put him into action. He is one great husband (and dad).

Within about 30 minutes Daisy wall looked like this:

About 1 1/2 hours later, including a trip to Home Depot for some wood the wall looked like this:

Before dinner (our dinner time is 5pm) we had a working window looking like this:

Some more final touches were made before bedtime. It made a huge difference in getting some air flowing into her room before she headed to bed.

Week in review

All six of us have been in town this week. It has been a great week of family time and just being able to relax (and work if you are Paul). We have spent every evening swimming at our neighborhood pool this week. I decided all four girls, and even Paul, were probably all some sort of fish or sea creature in a past life. They can't get enough of the water.

Daisy is on the move!

Boy how time flies by. It is hard to believe Daisy is 8 1/2 months old. We are really enjoying watching her develop and show more of her own little personality. She is one determined, happy little girl. Two weeks ago she was doing the following:

• Sitting on her own but only if you put her in that position,
• Would roll from her stomach to her back as quick as she could because she wanted nothing to do with being on her stomach,
• Sleeping in her swaddle in her sleep wedge,
• Taking medication for her reflux everyday day, and
• Showing no real signs of wanting to crawl.

Well lets move forward to today:

• Sleeping at night started to get bad so we decided to take her out of her swaddle and sleep wedge.She is now sleeping great in her crib.
• Sitting is fine, for a few seconds, as a way to take a break from getting tired from crawling all over the place,
• Reflux medication - she decided she was done. Every time I gave it to her she would proceed to spit it all back up. We decided to just take her off of it. She knew what she wanted, her relux is gone and she is feeling great.
• She is really enjoying crawling and is trying to pull her self up to standing when ever she can,
• She has also discovered the stairs - she has not climbed up them yet but is very interested and keeps on trying. 

It is crazy what can happen in just a couple weeks.

Wish I had more pictures of her on the move but my pictures keep turning out blurry. I guess it is time to start using our good camera again.
