Bubbles anyone?

Lillian had a bubble bath yesterday. I added the bubbles after I ran the bath and tried my best to make some good bubbles. I didn't have much luck so I turned the water back on, added more soap (of course without measuring) and watched the bubbles come. We had some bubbles but nothing too great. Well Paul decided to come and check out bath time. A few minutes later, after a lot of commotion in the tub, Paul was able to create some bubbles.

A bit more commotion, a bit more bubble making fun, and suddenly Paul turned all that soap I put into the tub into bubbles. Oh boy BUBBLES GALORE!

Enjoying the sun and chickens this weekend

It has been cold, wet and gray here in Western Washington. This weekend we were lucky enough to see the sun on Saturday and Sunday. Both days were cold, crisp and beautiful. Lillian and I ventured outside Saturday and did some gardening. It was her first time playing in the dirt. She had fun and was definitely in need of clean clothes and a good hand washing when we were done. Unfortunately I was too involved in pulling weeds and I forgot to take any pictures. Sunday we spent some time in the backyard on the deck with daddy and our chickens. The pictures show how much fun we had watching Lillian experience the chickens for the first time. She is at a wonderful age. Thought I would also share with you a video of Lillian walking. A new skill she has recently started to master.

Our Trip to Victoria, BC

It is late so I need to be quick with this post. Here are some pictures from our trip to Victoria. We arrived on a nice sunny day then woke the next morning to nearly a foot of snow (much more snow than normal for Victoria). We all enjoyed walking around Victoria in the snow. Highlights of our trip: exploring the Empress Hotel, private tour of the Parliament building (think the snow kept everyone inside), trip to the museum and a quick IMAX movie, afternoon tea at our B&B, early morning walk (5:30am) the first day of the snow before anyone else came out, and just having relaxing time together as a family.

Bath time

Paul loves to encourage Lillian to explore and learn new things. Lately they have been working on teaching Lillian how to climb into the bath tub on her own. It seems one important part of this lesson was left out - clothes come off first.

Last night I just couldn't resist letting Lillian climb in on her own. She was so excited and determined to get into the tub.

Leavenworth, WA

Paul, the girls and I headed to Leavenworth, WA for a quick one night stay. We had blue skies, sun, and crisp clear cold weather. The temperature topped out during the day at about 15 degrees. Much colder than we are used to. The cold weather kept my motivation for picture taking to a minimum. Here are a few pictures taken of the older girls.
